Eddie is the main protagonist of the 2002 animated movie Globehunters: An Around the World in 80 Days Adventure.

Eddie is a common chimpanzee, he has a six-pack chest and wears a red cap and black tennis shoes.
Role in the Film[]
While inside virtual simulator, Eddie's fun is interrupted by head scientist Dr. Burke and his assistant Wilkins, much to his annoyance. After the two scientist leave Eddie and his fellow lab animals break out in song in about how they want to break out and be free.When the song is over they overhear the scientists talking about the lab will be closing a week.
Later that evening Eddie and his parrot friend Trevor see Burke and Wilkins talking with a strange man named Hunter, about how he'll be helping the scientists "dispose" of the animals. When Eddie sees Hunter unclose in the dark he gets the impression that Hunter is an "actual" hunter. During a meeting, Eddie tells everyone about Hunter and that he plans to dispose of them the next day. Much to the other animals horror, the animal elders Max and Jacob state that not all humans are bad and that if the scientists have no more need for them, they may set them free. Eddie remains sceptic and decides to escape with the aid of Trevor and their cheetah friend Sasha.
